These kinds of habitats make me feel
nostalgic, as a child I remember catching
crabs and killifish to set up make shift
"bottle aquariums" from pools similar to
these. i've always found it fascinating that
despite them drying up, once the rainy
season came again life returns and I had
no idea how.
The heavy wind, crunchy leaflitter, cool
water and earthy smell soothed my
sensories.
Standing in or bordering the forest with
nothing but me and the sound of nature
felt as though just for a moment the earth
stood still.
